Our mission is to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention through education, media, and events.Our hope is to break the stigma and equate it with all other life threatening illnesses, so that people are not afraid to come into the light and learn how to seek help through local mental health resources.

ASIST: Two-day interactive workshop (Partners & Sponsors needed)

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don't need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.

Since its development in 1983, ASIST has received regular updates to reflect improvements in knowledge and practice, and over 2,000,000 people have taken the workshop. Studies show that the ASIST method helps reduce suicidal feelings in those at risk and is a cost-effective way to help address the problem of suicide.

5K Walk

Save Cenla 5K Walk into the Light

While registration is FREE, donations are needed & appreciated!

100% of the money raised will support our efforts to lift the stigma of mental illness & prevent suicide. Register by team or individual. The animated meter indicates how much each team has contributed. The team with the greatest contributions, will be recognized at the walk which includes newspaper picture, and will be included on the following annual banner.

Registration will be held at the court house starting at 8:00 a.m.

Donations

Educating communities to be able to better recognize the signs and how to help when our loved ones start to struggle with mental health concerns is our passion. We did not recognize those signs when Adam started to struggle and we lost him to suicide. It is our mission to train everyone 16 yrs and older in ASIST (suicide intervention) so that other families - your family, may not have to know that pain. Suicide can be prevented but we need your help. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be used to spread mental health awareness and suicide prevention as far and wide as possible. Thank you for helping us help others.
